On Sunday, December 14, 2025, a force affiliated with the Southern Transitional Council arrested journalist Salah Al-Saqladi at the parade square in Aden governorate, southern Yemen, while he participated in the sit-in called by the Council to demand what it calls “the second independence.”
Al-Saqladi was arrested for wearing a T-shirt with colors resembling those of the Yemeni flag.
Al-Saqladi said on his Facebook account: “This (crime) is the accused,” referring to the shirt he was wearing in the attached photo.
He added: “Its colors resemble the flag of Yemen. And on it, look above the scenery, my beloved. From the center of the sit-in square, the group went to the security circle, before well-known officers and soldiers intervened. They said: Well, good has happened, good has happened. We returned to the arena and the matter was over.”
He continued: “The strange thing is that everyone who saw me on the jersey was shouting: Ha, Salah, the transition club gave you a jersey. Congratulations, congratulations.”
